Seasonal Genres

Hi! I've been out of town for the past month, but I'm back and ready to blog! I was thinking about my reading habits and something made me wonder: I noticed that during the summer time, I usually read funny books or realistic fiction books. But, in the fall, I like reading horror books. Are my reading preferences determined by the seasons? Does Halloween get me in the mood for scary books? Is summer just a happy, fun time, so in turn I read happy fun books? I'm not sure about winter and spring though. Maybe I'll record the books I read over the next year and see if I notice any trends.

Do the seasons affect what genres you read? Think back during the past year. Did you read a certain type of book based on the weather or holidays?

Happy Reading!

Hi! It's Mrs.L., your principal. We have been very busy getting the school ready for everyone's return in September. I can't wait to see everyone!

I have been at several trainings to guide me in monitoring the instruction for the upcoming year. Yes, even principals have to keep learning. It is going to be a great year!

Our school garden has pumpkins growing. I wonder how long it will take for them to turn orange? Perhaps I can find a book that will help me with that.

    See you soon!

  2. Thanks for posting Mrs. L! My daughter and I took a walk a few days ago and we saw all of those pumpkins. Imagine how big they'll be by October! Maybe a few classes can carve jack o'lanterns!
